Azure VM Insight
Azure VM insights is a feature of Azure Monitor that provides insights into the performance and health of your Azure virtual machines (VMs) and virtual machine scale sets. It collects data on the running processes and dependencies on other resources, and provides a set of predefined workbooks that allow you to view trending of collected performance data over time.
To enable VM insights, you can follow these steps:
- Sign in to the Azure portal.
- Navigate to the VM or virtual machine scale set that you want to enable VM insights for.
- Under Monitoring, select Insights.
- If VM insights is not already enabled, select Enable.
Once VM insights is enabled, it will start collecting data on the VM or virtual machine scale set. You can then view the collected data in the Azure portal by navigating to the VM or virtual machine scale set and selecting Insights.
VM insights provides a variety of insights into the performance and health of your VMs and virtual machine scale sets. For example, you can use VM insights to:
- Identify performance bottlenecks
- Troubleshoot performance issues
- Track the health of your VMs and virtual machine scale sets over time
- Optimize the performance of your VMs and virtual machine scale sets
VM insights is a valuable tool for monitoring and managing your Azure VMs and virtual machine scale sets. It can help you to identify and resolve performance issues early, and ensure that your VMs and virtual machine scale sets are performing optimally.
Here are some of the benefits of using Azure VM insights:
- Improved performance and reliability: VM insights can help you to identify and resolve performance issues early, which can improve the performance and reliability of your VMs and virtual machine scale sets.
- Reduced costs: VM insights can help you to optimize the performance of your VMs and virtual machine scale sets, which can reduce your costs.
- Increased visibility: VM insights provides a comprehensive view of the performance and health of your VMs and virtual machine scale sets, which can help you to identify and resolve potential problems before they impact your users.
Overall, Azure VM insights is a powerful tool that can help you to improve the performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of your Azure VMs and virtual machine scale sets.
